I know this post is later than normal, but this has taken some putting together, and now I can’t wait to be able to tell you what was announced at the Apple Special Event at the Steve Jobs theatre on Tuesday!
I’ll start off with iPad, Apple have released a new iPad that is nearly the same design as the original iPad Pro and still works with the Apple Pencil, although this time round it seems that it is built and manufactured out of 100% aluminium. They have also changed the standard size of the iPad from a 9.7″ to a 10.2″ meaning that a considerable size increase is taking place, on this model as well it seems that they have kept the Touch ID, looking like for Apple at least they seem to have taken a step back within the development process.
Then the Apple Watch has had some decent changes this time around starting off with the Always On Retina display, with all the previous Apple Watches having a display that turns itself off when the watch is lowered, this means that you haven’t got to raise your wrist if you want to be able to see the time. Although surely you have to raise your wrist to see the time anyway don’t you? So I personally don’t see the point of this change. However, they seem to have redeemed themselves when it comes to the battery life, finally getting a battery that should last all day on one charge.
Then there’s the moment that we’ve all been waiting for which is the release of the new iPhones, which this year has seen the launch of the iPhone 11, the iPhone 11 Pro and the iPhone 11 Pro max.
The iPhone 11 has a 6.1 inch display, along with the toughest glass ever to be fitted into an iPhone, which will serve accident prone people really well, although most people if your anything like me will have a case and a glass screen protector fitted onto the phone straight away when the phone comes into their possession. Along with that it has also got a new dual camera on the back with a 12MP Wide angled lens and a 12MP Ultra Wide Angled lens as well, meaning that you should be able to get those dreamy looking shots that are more than ready for instagram. In addition to that it has also got a new night mode for taking photos with a new bracket that is apparently a lot better for taking those all important low light photos, this is also an automatic feature on the iPhone 11.
Then there’s the new iPhone 11 Pro and the Pro Max as well and these iPhones have a screen size of 5.8″ and 6.5″ then in addition to the impressive screen sizes again there are now three cameras on the back of both of the pro editions of the new iPhone. There are two 12MP cameras one Wide angled and one Ultra Wide Angled, then there is also a 12MP telephoto lens as well, all of these shoot at 4K was well which means that your photos should indeed be the same quality as the picture on your TV screen. Then there is the new Deep Fusion feature, which is used for the low light pictures that you can shoot using the new iPhone Pro, this works by using machine learning, so before you press the shutter button the camera is taking a series of shots, then when you press the shutter button, it combines all of the shots together to form one low noise photo.
So as you can see this was one of the biggest Apple special events, at least since last year, there is a lot to look forward to this year, with the pre-orders and shipping dates of the new Apple devices not being a million months away and certainly in time before Christmas for a lucky few. This could definitely be one of the most exciting years that Apple has had, this is with the release of Apple TV+ which you will get a free year of with the purchase of a new Apple device and Apple Arcade which is billed at £4.99 a month for the whole family.
So until next time, please post a comment below about your thoughts on the Apple event and what your favourite device is and what you would like Apple to release next!
Lots of love readers!
