Five Feet Apart Movie

Hi All,

Welcome to this weeks movie review, today I will be reviewing the movie ‘5 feet Apart’ which was released in 2019. I watched this movie quite recently with a Netflix subscription after having wanted to see it for so long. Was it worth the wait? You’ll have to wait and see what you think at the end of this review!

The movie is about young people living within a hospital in separate rooms, where they have to remain isolated and talk to people online and through social media messaging sites, due to the fact that they all have a condition called CF (Cystic Fibrosis) and this means that they have to stay at least 5 Feet Apart from the other people who also have CF (Cystic Fibrosis). Hence why they have to stay within their own confined living apartment.

The plot follows two people and their friends as they battle the trials and tribulations of finding love and friendship whilst they are living in confinement. Both of them needing urgent lung transplants due to the CF (Cystic Fibrosis) being so bad. Whilst they are still teenagers at heart wanting to go out and explore the outside world and develop physical connections, as well as emotional connections with people.

Will they both survive?

The performances from the main actors and actresses in this movie are absolutely phenomenal! As well as the fact that the movie is so well put together and extremely well researched. After having watched this move I definitely want to read the book upon which this movie is based.

This Movie had me gripped from start to finish. Certain elements reminded me of a similar movie called ‘Fault in our Stars’ although both movies are certainly quite different when you actually settle down and watch them.

This movie is definitely worth a watch if you are into the more romantic drama genre of movie!

Also I hope you are all coping with the current situation and staying safe no matter where you are all from!

Lots of Love Always

Jem xx
